5 New Snacks Bon Appétit Editors Are Most Excited About This September

Alec’s Mint Fudge Brownie

Alec’s Mint Fudge Brownie

I’m newly obsessed with Alec’s ice cream, which uses A2 dairy to mitigate digestive discomfort. I’m a big fan of their Culture Cups, which are crowned with a chocolate shell and include pre- and probiotics, but my current go-to has been the new Mint Fudge Brownie pint. As a classic mint chip girl through and through, this flavor checks all my boxes: refreshing mint-forward base, swirls of rich chocolate fudge, and plenty of brownie chunks strewn throughout. —A.C.

Better Sour

As a sour candy enthusiast, I was initially skeptical when my colleagues introduced me to Better Sour. First of all, I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners. Stevia, monk fruit, anything like that leaves a bad, hard-to-ignore taste in my mouth. Second, none of the healthy candies I’ve tried actually hit the sour note I’m looking for. They all lean more sweet than sour, neglecting the puckery zing I crave. I want my salivary glands to activate just by looking at the thing. That’s why, when I tasted Better Sour, it was hard to believe that an entire pack is only 70 calories and contains just 2-4 grams of sugar. Plus fiber?!

Look, I’m not eating candy for the health benefits. But having an option that doesn’t leave me feeling gross when I inevitably eat more than I planned is a win for my desk-side snacking. And the flavors are fun and unexpected, from a subtle-yet-present lychee to tart cherry stars that actually taste like cherry. Nothing tastes overly artificial, and miraculously, it’s not lacking in flavor, texture, or sourness. —Emma Jacobson, social media manager
